Kingdom Community
Kingdom Community is our chosen vocabulary for an organic, corporate expression of the Kingdom of God. It exists when congregations of Chirst-followers form a synergistic relationship with an apostolic team that serves to develop and strengthen the saints through through mentoring, equipping and networking. Our apostolic work is anchored in Wichita, Kansas under the name Christ Life Missions and our current sphere is the midwestern United States.
We believe the core foundational principles for Kingdom Community can be summed up as Relational, Missional & Borderless.
Relational
A kingdom community is connected by relationship rather than common tradition, preference of style, doctrinal alignment or personality. It holds to the truth expressed throughout the New Testament that we, as living stones, are being built together as a habitation of God in the Spirit that advances the kingdom of God in the earth. A kingdom community is an organic union of believers on a common journey not a purpose-driven organization. It is led by a college of elders working seamlessly with an apostolic team. The corporate effort is to become a mature corporate man wherein the saints are being equipped such that every beliver can be presented complete in Christ.
Missional
Being “missional” is en vogue these days having a variety of interpretations. For us missionality simply means engaging in the mission of God which, we believe is an outworking of God’s kingdom, through His people, in tangible acts of service, self-sacrifice, justice and love. We believe in the expansion of His kingdom in the earth as a foretaste of the fulness that will be revealed when the Lord Jesus returns in glory, and the preparation of the Bride unto the finish of this age.
Borderless
We are committed to recovering the truth of there being only one church in one city. Kingdom communities are building outward, towards the kingdom and a singular expression - not inward towards their unique, independant corporate expression. Kingdom communities do not see themselves as “a church” or “the church”, for there is only one church in their city. They are a congregation of believers in Jesus functioning according to what God is revealing as His new norm for the corporate expression where we embrace diversity in expression and reject division. They are seeking a city whose builder and maker is God and will give Him no rest until He makes Zion a praise in the earth.
