A phrase coined by Dr. Noel Woodroffe is increasingly becoming a favorite of mine: The Finish. As he says, “There is something called ‘The Finish’.” Thank God for The Finish – without which we would be condemned to eternal misery and disappointment. For God has determined an appointed time in which all things temporal will cease and the linear aspect of reality will give way to the instantaneous nature of eternity. For many centuries the enemy has sown a lie into the minds of believers that the end, as realized in the return of Christ, is a static point in the future which is totally independent of the activities of men. The only problem with this premise is that it’s wrong! In fact, the exact opposite is true. His strategy is to convince believers of this ‘fixed date of return’ idealism which effectively halts their pursuit of that which triggers the end, thereby lengthening the time of his stay of execution. It is true that Jesus has exacted judgment upon Satan, but He has determined that the Church will be the executor of His will. And until God’s agent of execution wields the death blow the condemned prisoner remains held over for sentencing.
Periodicity
I will take several articles to clearly articulate the realization of the finish. What does it look like, how does it come about and most importantly – when. To begin I must build upon the the concepts presented in my article “The Matter of Time” regarding the subjects of periodicity and the kairos.
The matter of periodicity in the process of God is of tantamount importance to us for God has so determined that we be on the earth during a season of transition. As with the natural cycle of the earth so is there a spiritual cycle. We are very attenuated to the repetitiveness of the natural cycle but are often quite dull with respect to that of the spiritual one. Jesus said “You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” (Matt. 16:3) The words for signs and times respectively are: semeion and kairos. Semeion comes from a word which means “to mark” and modifies it’s meaning to signify a mark of identification or indication. Jesus was saying that there are revealed indications, which are as clear as those pertaining to the natural changing of the seasons, that are associated with each kairos moment. As I have said before, God is not linear, nor does He move by linear, or chronos, time. His workings are based upon discrete moments which require a human trigger to enact His predetermined plan. And just as the natural seasons are periodic, so are the spiritual.
In other words, we will perpetually arrive at the same window of opportunity – being presented with the same set of circumstances – that require us to make a choice. If we are alert and wise, being able to rightly discern the indicating marks of the times we can utilize the window to escape our present orbital position and enter another. If, however, we are unwise we will miss the window and consign ourselves to yet another cycle. The sad reality is that these cycles are of such a grand scale they require decades to pass before another window becomes available. Our immediate predecessors would not have been able to make the transition even if they wanted to for the window simply wasn’t open. We, however, stand at the threshold of a cyclical opening; and if we are rightly configured we can be instrumental in propelling the earth towards the final transition with regards to this dispensation.
What a glorious and yet precarious day in which to live. Let me now digress to lay some foundation before approaching the matter of periodic indicators and proper configuration. For space sake please turn to Rev. 12 and read the entire chapter before continuing.
The Man-Child
Having read these passages you see that we have an interesting situation. A woman who is in pain to give birth – a child who will rule the nations with rod of iron -and dragon would devour upon his birth. Also some key events which are triggered by birthing and ascension this child: fleeing into wilderness war breaking out heaven subsequent casting Satan. Let’s begin much debated issue her manchild. (My purpose here is not to debate but share what I believe to be an accurate presentation of this passage. Having explored several interpretations on passage I am convinced of the position I will present. For the sake of space I have chosen not to utilize this venue to debunk other points view. However, if wish discuss this matter further please do so via email. I also encourage a study of Watchman Nee’s book ” The Glorious Church” which God used to clarify many of these truths to me having first revealed same basic premise.)
The woman here is the church and the manchild which is brought forth from her is the collective whole of individuals whom the Lord calls “overcomers”. The overcomers are those who have accelerated their personal transformation to the point of fully manifesting Christ. They have matured into a position of rulership on the earth with the ability to exercise the righteous judgment of the nations. Having come forth they are immediately caught up into heaven which triggers the heavenly war where Satan is cast out of heaven by Michael and initiates the culmination of this age. Notice first that the woman is in labor which clearly indicates the cyclical nature of this event. In fact,a brief perusal of history reveals that the same messages being preached today have been preached before. Books have been written espousing the same “present-truths” to previous generations. We are not the first generation to have these things revealed for God has been desiring this birth for 2000 years. Had previous generations not aborted or miscarried God’s purpose, we would not have been brought forth for another such season. Nevertheless, here we are.
Now it is our turn to activate and facilitate the finish. For the sake of God and man let’s be the finishing generation! Second, don’t think for a moment that Michael has not had the ability to cast Satan out of heaven. He has been under divine restraint awaiting the ascension of the man-child. Again, the key to his release is the birthing, or coming forth, of the man-child. Finally we must see verses 10-12 for they clearly speak concerning the significance of the man-child’s ascension:
“Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives even to death. For this reason rejoice O heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
Notice here that the signifying element of it being “Now” is the throwing down of the accuser from heaven. The immediately preceding action is the ascending into heaven of the man-child. It is clear that there can be only one heavenly authority, which until now has been the accuser, but is here being replaced by the man-child. His throwing down signifies the coming of the salvation, power, kingdom and authority of our God. It is also here that we see the pluralistic description of the man-child who is called “they”. “They”, the collection of those who constitute the man-child, have overcome the accuser and triggered the final kairos of this age. This my brethren is the realization of the finish. Now it becomes of tantamount importance that we obtain clear understanding of what it means to be an overcomer and thereby become activating agents of the finish.
A Corporate Expression
I submit to you this is a corporate expression of individual transformation. In other words it becomes incumbent upon each person to press forward towards the individual finish thereby facilitating a corporate expression of the finish as revealed in the birth and ascension of the man-child. In my next article I will expound on the process of individual transformation and the acceleration of our humanity to the point of expressed divinity. Beyond that we will explore the issues of divine configuration and the appearance of the overcomers. I intend to release supplemental articles over the next several weeks to encourage your exploration of these truths. I exhort and admonish you to take these issues to heart and study them out for yourselves. The matter is weighty and the window of opportunity is short.
